As I sit and look out my windows, this landscape will never be as pretty as it was, at least not in my lifetime. It would sure be a shame if some of Canada's prettiest lands, in my opinion, suffered the same fate. Those areas, Jasper, Kananaskis, Canmore, etc. are some of the best views that Canada has to offer and arguably rank as amongst some of the nicest in the world.

I know, it probably seems petty right now, but I hope these gorgeous areas aren't destroyed.

I'm such a sucker, too. My thoughts always drift to the poor wild animals involved.
A couple of thoughts on how the view may change. First, some of these areas around Jasper have been ravaged by pine beetles and while the mountains are beautiful the view is also of thousands of acres of dead forest. Fire will allow renewal of the forest. Anyone who drives and is familiar with Hwy 93 down to Radium sees this first hand. There was a massive fire that came right down to the highway in 2004. Year by year that forest is changing as it grows back, it's remarkable to see it each year.
