You gotta learn to give things a second, man. Her resigning was - of course - the forgone conclusion to all of this, but you have to allow a few I's to be dotted and T's to be crossed first. You don't just start scampering around firing people and resigning before a semblance of the timeline and anatomy of the failings can be figured out. It'd also be really weak to resign before what happened could be worked out. That would be a weasel move.
Taking responsibility would be to stick around, contribute to establishing what went wrong, then resigning once it became apparent either you failed your duty or resigning would help the country as a whole regain faith in the organization you were to lead.
You have to let things play out a bit sometimes before looking for conspiracies and nefarious motives. Of course she was going to resign or get fired. It's obvious. Try to quit letting right-wing media work you up, guy. Can't be healthy.
