Especially given 17th had large areas closed down most of the spring for construction too. I wonder if stretches of 17th will become pedestrian-only, even during warm weather months. Wouldn't be a bad idea, I believe the idea was floated around somewhat recently. That's basically Ground Zero for idiots revving their engines anyway.
On 17th specifically, I'm more understanding with e-scooters. There should be an understanding to keep them to the south side of the street though (Western High School side), as it's both a wider sidewalk and has less pedestrians as most bars are on the north side.
It's wild how many times I see some rummy trying to rip through throngs of people on a Saturday night on the tight north side of the sidewalk, when the other side has a fraction of the people AND better parking spots for your scooter..
