I think the underlying point is that people are much more susceptible to being indoctrinated in that way when they have no hope of things improving and the people they view as having power dismiss or ignore the things that are making their lives more difficult while treating concerns that have nothing to do with them as the urgent, "real problems" of society... the dominion lawsuit didn't do anything at all to slow the rate at which lunacy has taken hold and entrenched itself among the political right. Even if Fox went off the air tomorrow they'd just go find their crazy somewhere else. Hell, many already do, because they've gone so far down the crazy garden path that Fox is too moderate for them.

There's no easy fix for any of this at this point, obviously.
