Why are places with a plurality (in some cases, an actual majority) of Mormons like eastern Idaho, all of Utah, and northern Arizona immune to this propaganda? Might they have been reluctant to vote for Trump because of his moral misgivings? Maybe?

The brainwashing has already happened amongst the Mormons and Evangelicals. The majority clearly doesn't care that Trump is an immoral rapist as long as he continues to advance their interests by advancing Christian nationalism.
Romney is one of the few Mormons that has stood up to Trump.
