Had a plug in hybrid for 5 years and just bought a fully electric truck. I bought a level 2 charger for my old house but have loved in my new place for 3 years and still haven't installed it. Never miss it. A 16 kwh battery (only 12.7 useable) only takes about 10 or so hours to fill vs 2 on a level 2, so maybe once or twice a month it would make a difference. You'd never see a return on the investment. I'll be installing mine again now that I have a big battery truck.
Cost wise, $500-1500 (don't buy crappy ones off Amazon) plus installing a 60 amp run of cable from charger location to panel plus breaker. Then a few grand for panel upgrade if your panel doesn't have room for a 60 amp breaker added.
