He dominated the BCHL a year ago, putting up close to 2PPG, always making something happen and scoring at will, weaponizing his wrist and snap shots. He did it while showing good habbits defensively. The main knack against him has been his skating. We drafted him because he had great hands, and could stick handle and make plays in tight. All that, plus he's a pretty big guy.
He had a much more modest first season in the NCAA last year, putting up 12G, 25P in 36GP. I think the Flames see him as a defensively responsible 3rd liner/middle 6 option, that can pitch in with some offense. I didn't watch any NCAA games, so I don't have any deeper insight unfortunately.
