It doesn't matter. Any strategy that invites a response about the Democrats imposing the "woke gay trans agenda" or whatever is just going to result in the election being fought on losing ground for the dems.

Basically everyone who thinks Trump is an existential threat to democracy is going to vote for Harris. They were already going to vote for Biden. Her only chance is to move some of the people who think - erroneously - that all this melodrama about authoritarianism is just politics and the country was fine in 2018 and "I don't think much of Trump as a person but we were fine when he was in charge, and Biden clearly can't think straight", and so on.

Trump will continue to spew bile so she has to run a negative campaign against him to some extent but aside from variations on "my opponent is a criminal" her whole convention speech should be about the people who can be convinced to change their vote. She's not going to energize the base any more than Biden would have, that's for damn sure.
