The measurements are mm above sea level (because that's a logical way to measure things in Calgary). The Main Concourse will be at street level, the Club Mezzanine will be 5.08 m below that, and the Event Level another 6.225 m below that.
This also raises an interesting question about how the practice rink will be set up. The ice level for the practice rink should be at the same level as the main arena ice, which means the whole thing will be below ground. The practice rink in Detroit is completely below ground because LCA also has a street level concourse. I'm curious to see what will be at street level for the practice rink (in Detroit, it's a big public plaza). |
Detroit is by far the best arena ive been to both in the NHL and NBA. If it's anything like that I'll be happy.
