On water yeah I try to make an effort to always be drinking a little more than what I would if I just went on thirst. Maybe not at the 4-5L per day level but 2-3 is probably typical.
I do find that if my weight loss seems to be stalling out a bit it kind of correlates with not being as diligent drinking water, but the sample size is pretty small so hard to say if that's real.
