Not sure about this ‘etc.’ of which you speak, unless you mean Rooney. That pretty much exhausts the list of long-serving NHL vets on the roster. And other than Andersson, none of them are defencemen.

Kuzmenko has been playing pro hockey for a decade.
The same way they signed guys this off season I'm sure they will sign guys in future off seasons. That's the etc. You can aquire leadership much easier than young skilled talent. And the team doesn't need 10 or 15 vets. 5 or 6 guys should be plenty.
Personally I'd strongly consider trading both Andersson and Weegar because they will bring back the best returns. They are basically your last two assets who have potential to bring back impact players for the future. Their value is wasted providing something that can be easily acquired with no acquisition cost.
