I get why a player wants term but I think the long play that would be more lucrative for Kylington is to take a one or two year deal. He has a huge opportunity to move up the lineup and be in a top 4 role. Everyone knows that this team isn’t going to be very good for the next little while so he just needs to put up points and not be a liability defensively. If he can do that and get more involved on the PP he has the opportunity to cash in on a better deal then he would signing 4 years now.

I’m still convinced his agent is giving him bad advice, but as others have mentioned it’s his call at the end of the day. This seems like such an odd holdout for a contract given who he is a player and what he’s accomplished in the league (which hasn’t been much outside of a nice run with Tanev). You would hope he surrounds himself with people who have common sense but that seems to be lacking at least right now.
