OR anything with a high alcohol content. De-icer you buy is basically alcohol with a few extras thrown in for lubrication.
Rubbing alcohol from the drugstore works too, but it doesn't have the nifty nozzle to get it inside the keyhole.
A frozen lock is nothing really, I had the pleasure of finding my windshield washer fluid frozen. It still had summer fluid in it and this was the first time starting the vehicle since I parked it in October. Hot water and a turkey baster makes for a fun time when it is -20 outside.
