This thread has sure brought back some memories for me. I was a forces brat and lived on the base just off Crowchild and 33rd for a few years and then in Southwood. A few of the things I remember best in no particular order are:

- First pro hockey game, Calgary Cowboys vs Phoenix Roadrunners. Smokey McLeod, Danny Lawson, Ron Chipperfield, Rick Jodzio were some Cowboys while the Roadrunners had Robbie Ftorek.

- I only saw one Centennial game however I went to many Wrangler games seeing the likes of Kelly Kisio and Dana Murzyn playing for the good guys.

- Seeing a tournament of juniors featuring teams West, Ontario, Quebec and Russia. I only remember Mike Bossy and Behn Wilson off the top of my head but I still have the programs with the names of many players who's careers have come and gone.

- First fast food restaurant I went to with my dad after we moved here was JB Bigboys on MacLeod next to Lloyds Rollercade.

- The drive in movies everyone one has mentioned, Stampede by Anderson Rd., Sunset off Edmonton Trail.

- Rougeunderoos mentioned Home Food Inn, if your talking about when they were in the little house type building on 1A street or something close to that then I know just what your talking about. The food was the best around.

- People have mentioned Buckshot, I went to school at Central Memorial with a couple of his kids. There was also another kids show called Dale Harney I believe, who was a magician. It makes me laugh because a buddy of mine won a G.I Joe on that show.

- Going to the Odeon Theatre on 33rd St. and 20th Ave.

- My dad taking me to see Slap Shot at Westbrook when I was about 14 and being embarrassed when there were nekkid boobies.

- Driving by Peter's Drive In and Chicken on the Way thinking that they are about the only things that are still the same since I moved here.

- Hanging out at some bars like the Westgate (we called it fat chicks at the time), Live Wire, Southern Comfort, Ranchmans Uptown, El Marocco, Coconut Joes.

- Horse back riding at Elbow Valley Riding Stables for $10 an hour and thinking it was outrageous to pay that much.
