It's not the end of the world to let cool season grasses go dormant during a bit of a heat wave anyway. Brown does not usually equal dead, the grass just goes dormant to protect itself, and should generally come back with the next good rain and cooler nights.
I've given up on keeping fescue green in the summers in Virginia. The amount of watering it takes (2-3 hours per zone daily, maybe even twice daily when it's really hot) is ridiculous. It's always looking good in the spring and fall with little to no watering.
