Ahh, I see. I don't think drafting Yan at 50 was a huge mistake nor do I believe he is done maturing at 22 years old. I'm way more excited about Grushnikanev, but I didn't think some people were still upset over a 50th pick back in 2020 that's far far better than any Boltmann type pick. Kuznetsov actually still shows some promise, but Dman prospects just happen to be a strength for the Flames now which makes his road to the NHL more difficult. When you look at Yan's peers who were chosen afterwards, not many stand out as huge misses for the Flames.
I think Kuznetsov will play in the NHL at some point...maybe he'll only be a bottom pairing guy, but teams still need defensive players.
