You really think OK is gonna get that 2.5M range with term?
Players are free to do whatever they choose but thinking you will get a better offer down the line doesn't always work out. I think the best offer OK gets in this free agency period is the one he already turned down.
He would also have a huge opportunity with the Flames to play a lot and put up numbers that would actually put him in a position to demand a nice contract next time.

I strongly agree with you on this one, he must be getting some bad advice. He could stick with the FLames for a year he would have plenty of opportunities to set himself up for a better payday.
I bet he would be an excellent player for the young offensive defenseman guys that want to understand how to play within the the system,
There is a great opportunity for him here I'm not sure what advice he is getting, but my gut tells me it's more likely he is just following his agent. If he was smart he would sign a one-year contract and you never know by the time the playoffs roll around and maybe other teams are calling on him.
I'm seeing lots of over the top negative comments from some posters, that is not really necessary,
People were saying his true colors were coming out but really they need to take a look at themselves in the mirror.. Let's just be happy he is back and healthy, show some respect and not bash the player.
