Just a FYI, this may sound stupid or may be a "doh" moment. I was having a hell of a time removing the old cartridge on my tub faucet, didn't want to twist too hard and force it. Then I tried opening up the faucet the whole way first and the cartridge unscrewed super easy. If that works you can send me 1/2 of what you were going to pay the plumber
