the post I was responding to was that the McLeod cap savings was his cap hit less whomever was replacing him (Henrique already accounted for) and my point was simply that the Oilers are trying to remove a roster player and cap hit- not 'replace' McLeod from the current roster. its a pure cap savings (not arguing one way or another whether its a good hockey trade too)

Savoie may turn into an NHLer or be another Matthew Phillips but, like you say, the Oilers did well just as a pure salary dump for a player they didn't even need.
