I really doubt he plays more than 9 games (if any) this year, there isn't really a need for him to. Though if he's crushing it that hard and the Flames feel it's the best place for him to continue to develop then I'll trust their judgement.

Yes, development is the key.
It seems fairly likely that he'd get a lot more minutes in the OHL than the NHL. Minutes are important for development. But it's also possible that there's not much more to accomplish in the OHL. Oftentimes, to improve, you need to face new stresses. So we'll have to wait and see.
