"This chick" is no different than saying "this dude." These words themselves mean literally nothing. It's only what precedes or follows them that shapes the intention of their use, and clearly there was no evil intention behind the particular post you've referred to.
Who's most responsible for a person being offended? The person using a word or the person offended by the use of a word?
