They don’t need to do anything else at the moment, unless someone has actively requested a trade.

Mackenzie Weegar is a top pairing D signed for seven more years to a reasonable number.

Nazem Kadri is your #1C signed for five more years, and he’d get his current $5/35M or better if he was UFA today.

Coleman and Andersson… they can stay or go, but nothing needs to happen now.

Backlund is a Flame for life.

The only noteworthy UFA they have left is Kuzmenko - I understand they may not resign him.

But I have to imagine he’s looking at Vlad Tarasenkox, who has not been able to secure a long term deal the last two off seasons despite an exemplary career that now includes two Stanley Cups. And he has to know his resumé is Far less impressive to NHL teams.

So if things pick up where they left off at the end of the season, with the powerplay operating near 25%, and Conroy offers him 4y/$24M or thereabouts, I can see the player agreeing to that.

Every guaranteed year in the NHL is a year closer to Putin’s death.
