He had a really good run with Chris Tanev as a defensive partner (Tanev improves everyone), but he's never been all that dependable on his own and can't anchor a pairing.

I don't understand this take. He had one really good season and then was gone for a year and a half. And then came back and struggled.
It's super unclear how good he is because of all that time off. Id be excited to see how he progresses if he comes back. He's not even close to fully baked as a player.
