There is the Banff Museum which I think is absolutely exceptional! Learning about the Swiss and German Immigrants who scaled all of the Mountains for what essentially amounts to 'for fun' and essentially built that place?
Its fascinating.
It is actually very cool. They've got old-timey climbing equipment on display and they tell you about the early explorers, its really interesting.
