I am a big believer that value is defined by what people are willing to pay for something. In an open market, where any player can be signed by any team, DeBrusk signed 7 X $5.5 and Zadorov signed 6 X $5.
If it is your opinion that those contracts are out of whack, that's fine. I - and the market - disagree.

OK, well, that sort of just presumes that NHL GMs are right, when we know they make lots of mistakes every year.
I'm saying I think Debrusk at 5.5 is about right - probably 2 years too long, but that's how it goes on Jul 1 - largely because he is coming off a poor season in which he had a hand injury. I think Zadorov is being massively overpaid due to a strong playoff run and a game that gets overvalued because of flashy moments offensively and some big hits, which mask his downsides.
Of the 5 players there, I think Zadorov's contract is the worst, then probably about equal between Lindholm and Debrusk (both probably 2 years too long), then Forbort and Heinen are reasonable.
