I think this kid is entertaining. He also is an incredibly hard worker on every shift, and doesn't really hurt you defensively. It is a little ball of hate out there with a constant smile on his face. I have always loved this kid. Remember when he buckled Kassian?
These hard-working types are also great to show the kids the way. Conroy speaks about being a team that competes - you need vets that compete. I am not very high on Mantha because of his regular 0-compete, but he is fine for a deadline flip. Conroy isn't trying to build a winner right now (and he obviously wouldn't be able to right now anyway), but he wants to have a culture where guys go out and compete. It isn't about being competitive in the standings, it is about competing on the ice night after night even through losses, so that you when you start to insert the high-skilled players from the core, that's the expectations that will be placed on them by the rest of the team.
