The cap is going up 5% 2025/26 (escalator clause as mentioned by Elliott Friedman) so it will be around $92M.
They are in cap jail & will remain so if they resign the two studs.
They don’t want to admit it, but the only time to maximize the asset of both of them via trade is right now, on those contracts.
They would receive an insane bounty, but it will not happen.

They
should have plenty to resign divesaitl. The projected increase and no more dead cap would alone equal nearly 10mil:
Expiring contracts: 18.65mil
Expired dead cap space: 5.47mil
Cap Increase (proj.): 4mil
Total free cap: 28mil
Saying Leon gets half of that, that would leave 14mil for Ceci, Bouchard, McLeod and Ryan. And probably not too much worry about McDavids pay raise as Kane/Kulak money comes off the books the following year.
Buuuuut, it's Edmonton. So that 28 will likely get eaten into by Connor Brown style cap carryover deals they will sign this year (up to 6.6mil), buyouts for Campbell, and whatever retention deals they make at TDL next year to dump a bad contract and chase their next savior signing. Not to mention if they are going to try and bridge current RFA's Holloway and Broberg with 1 year deals, that will be more raises required the following year.
A competent GM and management team could hide some of Hollands mistakes with the cap increase and shrewd signings. So here's to several more years of total E=NG.
