The conflation of Trump and our current liberal party is a thinly veiled joke made by people who truly have no self reflection, and to deflect and accuse other of the opposite is a bit of a joke.
Trump's family and organization have directly and frequently leveraged their positions in government to coerce spending in their business ventures. He has showed a complete lack of remorse for weather accidental or purposeful put him at the head of a coup attempt, one which has the stated of intention of repeating. Created the lack of government infrastructure that allowed Covid to cycle the global so quickly, and the financial situation for the inflationary super cycle that followed. He is weak, doting and subordinate around strong men which has lead to Iran and N Korea being far more belligerent on the world stage than they had been prior to his predecessor. Russia has looked to that example and his language minimizing the most powerful and successful defense alliance in the history of the world, and decided that they could afford a land war in Europe. And beyond all of that even if you can excuse the lying and rampant criminality, he frequently use the exact same language that led to the holocaust. All of this before you get into the very direct harm that his lies, statements and actions have had towards pregnant women, ivermectin sucking conspiracy theorists, people in the paths of hurricanes, gun victims, children who are in emotional destress....
In contrast, Trudeau has engage in some no good, but perfectly run of the mill political scandals that will probably as the investigations continue rise to the level of misdemeanor and not criminal, and extended to the vast majority of parliament including the very conservatives whos supporters are so fond of saying lock him up. Usually his political scandals have emerged from using self justification like 'I'm the good guy, so it's ok if I take Chinas money to win' or his token dithering indecisiveness, or rather pathetic attempts to cover up something that didn't even directly involve him in the first place. A massive contrast from someone who is actively trying to dismantle the global post WWII order.
