Not a single poster put together an entire 2024-25 roster structure, so there hasn't been a lot of math.
I am and was correct though. Let me rehash it for you so you don't have to go back. They currently have 7 forwards and 5 defencemen under contract. A fair number of teams run 13F and 7D. After Broberg and Holloway...oh wait let me show my work!
7 Forwards + Holloway = 8F.
5 Defencemen + Broberg = 6D.
13F - 8F = 5F. They need to add at minimum five more forwards.
7D - 6D = 1D. They need to add at minimum one more defenceman.
(Well technically they can run 12F + 6D if they want but most don't consider that a full roster.)
If they buyout Campbell, then they need to add a goalie to the main roster. Either a signing, orrrrrrrrr put Rodrigue who they have under contract at backup on the main roster.
No one is getting into the hypotheticals of all of the variations of things they could do. It's just nearly the bare minimum they have to do to ice a roster next year. They could even keep Campbell at backup.
