I think it shows more leadership to go process the loss with your teammates than to go get your individual achievement award while the opponent is just about ready to take the prize you really want. The league puts a player from the losing team in a tough spot to come out and accept that trophy at that moment. Any player in a leadership position is not going to care one bit about claiming the Conn Smythe just moments after losing the cup. I don't really blame him.

I also think if he did it, people would start criticizing him by saying he's all about the individual accolades.

It wasn't a big deal in my books, I get why he didn't.
