No matter the exit, when you have a player, who, in the biggest moment of his sporting life, after thanking teammates and family, thanks the people of the city and fans of his former team and knows how big a deal this is for Calgary and Flames fans, is pretty cool.
If you are a Flames player or thinking of being a Flames player, seeing that on the ice of a Stanley Cup win, for a former player who is still so passionate about the Flames rivalry to bring that up, understanding about how passionate Flames fans are, should get you fired up too.
Hell, it should put into perspective for the front running, bandwagon cowardly fans who now own Flames and Oiler merchanside, especially in this city...that if a former player here for a handful of years cares about the rivalry and, in his biggest moment, to comment about how happy he is to defeat the Flames rival because he knows how much that means to people here in Calgary, maybe some people who still live in this city should care more too.
