Yeah, the Flames, though, would have to see some value in Skinner since he'll be taking up a spot for three years. $27million is a lot of money to buy a draft pick, even if it's 11th overall.
I'd do it as a fan, but not so sure I'd do it as an owner unless Calgary drafts a centre/D-man at 9 and Iginla is available at 11 -- and ownership sees the broader financial (and winning) benefits of Tij.
It generally makes sense for Buffalo compared to a buyout. Cap penalty isn't bad this year, but it's $4.5 next and $6.5 in year three, which could be a serious problem when they have to pay their young guys.
