I would imagine he's looking for security and a chance to prove himself. Over the last 4 seasons, he's played 32, 35, 36, and 55 games. He hasn't hit PPG in the AHL. He's got 1 goal and 4 points in 32 career NHL games. If he hadn't been drafted 5th overall 5 years ago, no one would be thinking this was weird.
