I have really been on the fence here, but I think the Flames should move him as his contract is very attractive. Cash in exactly the same way that the Islanders cashed-in on the Hamonic contract at the time (ugh!).

Then turn around and sign a decent defencemen off the UFA rack, or get a sweetener for taking on an overpriced but defensively decent defencemen to help Wolf and Vladar out, as the defence is already very thin.

I don't view Andersson as a core piece, but I do view him as a very excellent 'next tier' player - a very good support player. I would rather the bullets for more shots at core players, while signing someone to help fill-in the gap defensively.
