I think the NHL really needs to re-think these offside challenges. If it takes many guys, multiple angles, zoom, etc. to determine if a play if off-side, it's not off-side.
In the spirit of the game, taking all that, the players on the ice had no hope of determining during the play and the mm or two either way make absolutely no difference to the result.
It's ridiculous.

It's the same thing with control of the ball in the NFL. Sitting there and analyzing incredible minutia, nobody else had possession so if it's a good catch, give it to him.
That inch one way or another had no affect on the goal, although I do think it was marginally off-side.
