Maybe it is divinely inspired that they got here. But to pretend they did it without a #####-ton of help and outside circumstances aligning would be a lie.

I agree with you 100%. Unfortunately, if oilers were to somehow pull this off (panthers still up 3-2 so I think panthers can still do this), nobody is going to mention that. The nausea-inducing historical narrative would be:
- worst team in the league early in the season
- went on incredible run during the season
- down 3-0 in cup finals, came back
- McDiver's assist records, blah blah
They won't ask how it happened, just that it did.
