I'd argue Dubois is a great asset for a rebuilding team to acquire for low acquisition cost. If you can rehabilitate him and if he can become a 60-80 point Center again within the next 2-3 seasons, and you then can shop a 29 year old Dubois who is coming off an 80 point season (as an example) you're going to be able to get a good return for him.
Markstrom's trade return this offseason after being deemed untradeable last season shows that GMs have short memories when it comes to impact positions.
