In my case some idiot decided to loosen the lug nuts on my rear passenger tire while I was inside the local hockey rink last January.

I get half way home and I hear a terrible racket coming from the rear of my vehicle. Stopped to check out the noise only to see my tire was wobbling with 2 lug nuts missing and the rest ready to come off. Luckily I caught it in time and was able to tighten the lug nuts and replace the 2 I lost.

In another story. About 7 years ago a buddy of mine took his Blazer to a tire shop to get his rear brakes done. Coming home on Edmonton Trail he heard a huge bang as his rear end hit the pavement. At the same time he saw his 2 rear tires pass him. Turned out the tire guy forgot to put on the lug nuts. Tire shop did repair all the damage.
