I also grew up in Lake Bonavista. It is a great community and not a bad location. The only problems might be that a lot of the houses are getting to the age where they might need some significant work, so you may have to be prepared to spend money on some renovations unless the previous owner has already fixed everything, and the house prices are high compared to newer communities. If neither of those is a problem for you, then I'd recommend the area.
