Even looking at kids of NHLers who don't get drafted high or have a cup of coffee in the NHL is not an issue. Most NHLers kids don't even excell in junior hockey to the point where they are serious hockey players. Orr's kids never played seriously. Even the son of maybe greatest talent to play the game IMO (Mario) played a couple years of college and that's it. So the genetics thing isn't a thing for me. I do think it's a cool story and picking Iginla is certainly not a reach given his ranking. That's the fun part.
