I find it funny when people trot out the, "If he wasn't an Iginla you wouldnt be talking about him" line.

Genetics are a thing. The values you are raised with are a thing. The things you learn from your father are a thing.

These things definitely raise his stock but he also has the talent, work ethic and drive as a hockey player which he has done on his own. It's not like hes made it this far because his dad is Jarome Iginla.
