Citing Iginla's success last year as a centre as some sort of evidence that he can't perform as a centre is not a legitimate argument. That team was stacked with older players. It wouldn't have mattered if he played C or W, he wouldn't have had that playing time.
The following season he gets traded, gets that playing time, and really develops all season long, into the playoffs, and into the U18 tournament. I would think that this playing time + playing as a C will likely see an upward spike in points.
You can't stat-watch and make that assumption, without at least giving weight to how the team was constituted. It is exactly the same concept in thinking that Martin St. Louis will never be anything of note in the NHL because he didn't get the playing time back then in Calgary. This happens all the time in the WHL - young player on a stacked team doesn't get the opportunity to perform and develop. Iginla got way more opportunity this season and blossomed. Let's see what he does as a C next season with comparable opportunity before dismissing anything.

I would draft him based on him being a top-end player that will add to the core you build around. Whatever position he plays, he will be a solid play driver and difference maker. I would bet that there will be a strong chance that he ends up being a very good C. The last thing I would do is bet against this kid. He has so many tools, and I have yet to find a weakness in him from everything I have seen.
