Flames have 4D in their top 7. Strong chance we see D at 9. Based on what I've herd from the Combine - Almost ZERO chance Tij makes it to 9 if the draft order stays the same. Teams in 5,6,7 had very extensive looks and detailed reviews of him. If Montreal doesn't take him, I think UTAH HC will. Flames know the cost to move 5 through 8. If Tij is available at 8, I think Ottawa will take one of the D. Flames have plenty of feelers to move into the top 10-15 and 15-25. Moving up past 9 does not appear to be an option today based off the cost but the week prior to the draft will be very important for the Flames as teams arrive in Vegas as teams lock in on their catch.

Ullmark is probably the goalie driving the most interest but with only 1 year remaining and wanting a pay raise its keeping the offers low currently. There is cheaper options available that are of boom bust variety some teams are considering.

Two Flames names are generating lots of phone calls, first is Markstrom this is a given and zero surprise. As of today, NJD have not put 10 on the table. Toronto, Buffalo and Carolina have all snooped around. Markstrom is not interested in staying West unless its Calgary (Sorry Kings fans). He would prefer to play in the East and make travel between Sweden (Personal reasons) and his new city easier. Sadly I don't think Markstrom is the main goalie on the Market but he is certainly the only cost controlled for the next two seasons. With the announcement of the cap going up retention slot are of value through the summer.

Martin Pospisil is gaining traction, his WHC have bumped his stock - Calgary loves the player and the intangibles and it would take a large over payment to get him, I personally don't see Calgary moving. Buffalo and Minnesota seem to be the two keeping tabs currently.

Rasmus Andersson has high price tag and I doubt many teams will meet this price prior to the draft and Free Agency. He's signed to an incredible contract. (1st ++)

Andrew Mangiapane is available but the market is so so cold on him and his 5.8 AAV contract. I expect him to be a pump and dump this season.

Flames will approach Chris Tanev to come back on 1 year deals at above average AAV and let him chase cups if its not available in Calgary. However his stock is high at the moment and contending teams could shelter him through the season better than the flames.
