That said, I think we are overestimating Markstroms value. Over the past three seasons he had about a season and a half of stellar play, the rest was meh, and his playoff series against the Oilers was terrible. He is 34 with two more years at 6 million per.

If the Flames retain salary and take Allen maybe you get 10 OA. If your expecting more you might be disappointed. I also won't be shocked to see this go past the draft for an underwhelming return. Hope to be wrong though.
Devils have to be looking at Holtz and thinking that right now may be the highest value that 10th overall pick holds. If it turns out like Holtz you could be in a position where you are trading what would have been the value of a 7th overall (in his case) for a 38th overall pick or something. Often times these top 10 picks have their highest value right before they are used to draft a player.
