Love what he said about Pospisil.

Love what he said about wanting to play with guys who want to be here.

It’s clear he has a ton of respect for the team, the management, the fans, and even the media. And it’s clear how thankful he is for where he’s at and doesn’t take it for granted.

Future captain for sure.
Guy literally said that he wants to get back to winning right away, and that he's happy to hear from his management/coach that they're aligned on that.

I agree, Weegar is awesome - also, probably worth taking what he says at face value - and what he said is what I posted.

As far as being tank-obsessed, yeah - I think the only way you build a championship team is with a foundation built on top-3 picks. The Flames have tried and failed over and over and over trying it the other way, so yeah - I'm hopeful we have some top-3 picks in our near future. The best players wins Championships, and they're generally/most consistently found at the top of the draft. If I'm labeled as tank-obsessed, does that make you obsessed with mediocrity?

Players want to win, I'm sure they are going to say they are trying to win.
I think moving Markstrom fits in with the approach the Flames have taken thus far. Move him out, hand the job over to Vladar and Wolf as a tandem. Marky may have soured on being here, and it feels like the post-season comments from himself and Conroy seem to lend themselves to that sentiment. Moving him out also likely gives the Flames even more cap-space to play with.

We'll see how it plays out, but I really won't be surprised if the Flames do go out and make deals that are a bit more focused on the immediate future rather than a bigger picture perspective - and perhaps that's just my slant from the years and years of history of them operating in just that fashion, we'll see. Conroy did say that the 7 year contract UFAs probably aren't in their plans for this Summer - so that's good to hear to be sure.
