Another interesting thing to ponder out of all this is the overall system design. I don't know anything about it and there are likely reasons why this is crazy and not worth the squeeze, but I wonder how a dual system would work: fully treated water to taps and lightly treated water to toilets, outside faucets, baths/showers, etc.
I'm not exactly sure what that would achieve...but I feel like it would offer more flexibility in this particular scenario!
Not being able to drink from a garden hose would make me feel sad, though.
