The Flames are trying to trade a better goalie, a significantly lower percentage of the cap than what Kuemper was (if they retain 50%). Surely if Kuemper gets what would be the equivalent of a former 1st round pick and a 1st round pick plus a conditional pick that would be the absolute floor for a Markstrom trade.

Timmins was also was not performing that well in the AHL and his value had dropped since his draft year.
I wonder what the Flames would have to add to 28th OV to get 10OV? In picks and prospects? Huge difference in the Kuemper return vs the suggested Markstrom return. Flames would have to add another late first to trade up that far. The 1st Arizona got was end of the 1st round.
