That’s not how I recall it. What I recall is that when his contract was nearing an end there was some speculation from Friedman (who I specifically remember talking about but) that Treliving wanted autonomy. Should also be said/acknowledged that autonomy could mean a number of different things. After all, half this board thinks it was Edwards hired Sutter. That doesn’t sound like autonomy to me.

When your owner goes over you head to hire a head coach you ask for full autonomy or leave when your contract is up . And if you are forced to go over your GMs head and hire a coach of your liking you sure aren’t giving that person autonomy
