Lots of players drafted as C wind up as wingers for those two reasons - lack of NHL smarts or lack of NHL size.

Even if Catton ends up a winger his production is in rarified air (50+ goals, 115+ points) with a small group of CHL draft eligible players that have become elite NHL players (Crosby, Kane, Bedard) and he did this without a stacked supporting cast. I feel he's going to be that player that if he slides there will be people years down the road asking why he wasn't a top 5 pick. I get the Iginla infatuation but the Flames are so starved for a franchise talent that I just don't know how they could pass on Catton if he's available at 9.
