the 25 pick has more value because it is unknown, but it could be even worse than the 24 1st. It's unlikely that it will be substantially better. So why make it a crux for the trade to die on? Especially if there are players we like in the top 15 that we could potentially package two late 1sts to snag in this year's draft.
Necas, Orlov, even Kotka IMO you hold on to for now and trade later. The benefit here is that Carolina needs to make moves this offseason where we have no pressure to. We can keep them and sell them after they perform better. It's the same idea with Kuzmenko.
